Exorcising Possessions artist statement:

As I witness the downfall of certain friends and family I realize the idea of possession is very real, not in the religious sense, but that the powers of evil are very real in all of us. In this body of work I am mainly focusing on the blinding power of possession.   I was brought up surrounded by the stories and theories of the bible, the idea of heaven, hell, and purgatory lead me to believe in a fear of life and death which in turn possessed me into falling victim to the weakness of possession. As I grow older I believe more in the power of the individual to deny these evils and exorcise themselves. Through the creation of artwork I free myself from fear and explore the questions of life more deeply.

Exorcising Possessions is a show dedicated to all my loved ones who are possessed.
